San in Korean means mountain and this is the most famous day hike for tourists. Of all the hikes we did in Korea, we saw the most foriegners here and the most hikers.

Pollution is a real problem in South Korea. As you can see here Seoul is hidden behind thick clouds of pollution. China is responsible for a large portion of the poor air quality.
A Social activity
Hiking and Backpacking often is when friends, neighbours and communities come together. They refer to these groups as Alpine clubs. We have made very good friends hiking with Basecamp Alpine club out of Pyeongtaek !

breaking out the food after summiting is a tradition here in Korea. Always a treat.

We find these trees very beautiful. they have been watching over Koreas drastic changes over the last 75 years.

Seoul in nestled in a river valley, surrounded by steep mountains. These thick walls were built during the Joseon dynasty. Their remnants still flank the city to this day. this tunnel is known as the hole in the wall.

The Korean Peninsula has been a target of neighbouring countries since the very beginning.
